The Session of All Saints Presbyterian Church is calling the church to a special emphasis on
prayer over four days from Sunday August 24 th to Wednesday August 27 th .
 
There are many needs among our members such as serious illnesses and various matters of
urgency that are pressing in on us. We are also entering another period of reaching out to lost
people and inviting them to come and hear the good news of Jesus Christ in a relaxed setting as
we examine the Gospel of Mark.

We follow Christ on a cosmic battlefield. Evangelism is done on this battlefield in which the enemy
of the gospel is very active. None of us has the ability in our own strength to accomplish the work
of evangelism. So, it is incumbent on us, in recognition of God’s sovereignty over our lives and in
His work of spreading the gospel, to be diligent in prayer.
 
Here is a passage of Scripture for reflection taken from Ephesians 6:10-20 (please meditate on the
whole section):
 
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that
you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and
blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present
darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole
armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand
firm…praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. (Eph. 6:10-13, 18).
