Brothers and Sisters,

It has already become cliché to remark on what strange times these are. We do not want to lose sight, though, of how much remains the same. Our God still reigns. He is still in the Heavens and on his throne. He still loves his people and knows what is best. Finances, health, and vocation may change dramatically in the coming days for many, but we are still the sheep of his pasture. We have sung “the body they may kill” and read with joy and hope “though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.” We now have the opportunity to live that faith.

Please watch the video above to find out our plan going forward for worship. You can get the details there. Here I want to press home the main idea. We want to maintain as much normalcy as possible as a congregation. Of course, some things are beyond our control. And some things need to change in the coming days. As we are able, the Session will communicate about some of those things. In the meantime, though, the prayer email will go out on Mondays. The Newsletter will go out on Wednesdays. We are going to start up Wednesday Bible studies next week online (more information coming on this), and our worship on Sundays will pick up where we left off with Ezra, the Psalms, and preaching through Matthew.

As I ask in the video, please stick with us. We may not be able to gather on Sundays, but we remain a community of faithful Christians committed to one another. Your elders and deacons will be checking in with you regularly. Please let us know how we can serve you! Worship with us as outlined in the video—there is a true spiritual unity that is ours in Christ and which is nurtured in worshiping together, even if only in Spirit.

We love this congregation and continue to take joy in serving her, even in this. Cling to Christ and find your joy and peace in him and his promises.

Pastor Matt, on behalf of the Session
